technical stops are those stoppages that a train makes during its journey so that the technical aspects of the journey be done.............these include filling of water in toilets, loading food materials in the pantry car, locomotive change, rake reversal , checking of the running stock(wheels, motors etc of locomotives) and also for crew change ..........
this concept is normally used where non stop trains are considered like Duronto exp which have no official boarding or de-boarding halts execpt the starting and the destination stations. though many other trains like for eg...the howrah bound geetanjali exp from Mumbai has a technical halt at Igatpuri for a locomotive change..........
and...
more... please note that booking and boarding of trains from technical halts are not allowed.........though one may be able to de-board from the train at these stations.......
usually the technical halts are on the main pF itself so that there is easiness in activities like loading food and filling water in the toilets.
