On Thursday, the GM of the Railways took a meeting with the MPs in Nagpur of South Eastern Railway Zone. In this, along with the expansion of rail facilities, the MPs made demands regarding the facilities of the passengers including expansion in the operation of trains. During this, demands were made to upgrade Gwarighat railway station, connect Mandla with Bilaspur and Nagpur railways. On the demands of the MPs, the GM talked about sending the Railway Board level works to the ministry for approval. During the meeting, various demands related to the operation of trains were discussed. In which mainly Ambikapur – Durg (18243/18242) Express Bhopal – Durg (12853/12854) Amarkantak Express extended up to Rajnandgaon, Gondia-Kolhapur Maharashtra Express train number 11040 extended up to Durg, Bilaspur – Bikaner (18243/18244) Stoppage at Dongargarh, Hyderabad – Darbhanga Express stoppage at Vadsa and Nagbhir Railway Station, Train No. 22181 / 22182 Gondwana Express, presently...
running between Hazrat Nizamuddin to Jabalpur, extends from Jabalpur to Nainpur, Balaghat, Gondia To run Itwari up to Nagpur, from Bilaspur to Indore via Gondia, Balaghat, new train from Nainpur to Jabalpur, running Shivnath Express 18239/40 up to Chhindwara and re-operation of Passenger and Local trains along with senior citizens, Divyang, women and students There was a discussion on starting the facility to be provided to him immediately.
Apart from this, various projects – conversion of Nagpur-Nagbhid rail line, gauge and electrification work to be completed soon, construction of a pit line in Chhindwara immediately, survey of Ramtek to Khapa new railway line, Ramtek- Tirodi-Tarsa new rail line, Planning for expansion and modernization of Gondia railway station including construction of coach maintenance depot at Nainpur, development of Nainpur station and starting trains from Nainpur, Mandla by expanding facilities at Mandla railway station Regular operation of trains from railway station, upgradation of Gwarighat railway station, connecting Mandla with Bilaspur and Nagpur railways, warehouse in vacant land of railways, Godown, tourism and industry etc. Along with making good use of the said land on the model, there was a detailed discussion on giving jobs by completing the documents of the dependents of the remaining few farmers who had acquired the land.
General Manager Alok Kumar, while giving information about the development works at the headquarters level out of all the suggestions and development works taken in the meeting, assured to make every effort to complete the works and send the board level works to the ministry for approval. Rajnandgaon MP Santosh Pandey, Gondia-Bhandara MP Sunil Mendhe, Mandla MP Sampatia Uike, General Manager Alok Kumar, Nagpur Railway Divisional Manager Maninder Uppal, MP and representative of Union Transport Minister, MLA Praveen Datke were present in the meeting.Public representatives are aware of the problemsIn the meeting, GM Alok Kumar said that public representatives are well informed about local demands and problems. He apprised about the development of infrastructure of Indian Railways, the struggle made by the Railways during the Corona period, developmental works, electrification, gauge conversion, infrastructure, continuous increase in freight shipments, among others.
