PROSPECTS:
This section is part of an alternative route to Howrah from Adra side apart from the
overburdened Asansol-Raniganj-Andal-Durgapur and Kharagpur-Tikiapara-Howrah
route, free from passing goods traffic. Distance between Bankura and Howrah will be
reduced by 41 kms, making it the shortest route between them. Henceforth, journey time
will also reduce from existing 4 hrs to 3 hrs. Most stations between BQA and MSAE
have high PPM figure towards both ends.
UPGRADATION OF MAXIMUM PERMIOSSIBLE SPEED IN
BANKURA MASAGRAM SECTION
STATUS:
Renewal and restructuring work between Bankura and Masagram will be over by
04.02.2022. Two new loops have been proposed at Beliatore and Rainagar. There are two
crossing stations i.e., Bowaichandi and Sonamukhi. Foundation of TSS at Indas is ready
to power the OHE facilitating simultaneous train operation at higher speeds.

ENHANCEMENTS:
MPS of this section must be increased to 110 KM/H in order to run express trains at an
average of 80 kmph. MEMU and Passenger services need to operate at 45 kmph average.
Signal posts are to be installed in all eligible halt stations for smooth movement of traffic
in both directions. Interlockings at all stations should be in sync to support reserved
operation.
please wait...Show AI ResponseThat's great news! Increasing the maximum permissible speed from 80 kmph to 110 kmph in the Bankura Masagram section is definitely a positive development. Soumyadeep da deserves credit for arranging the necessary documents for this upgrade.
The new route towards Howrah will provide an alternative option apart from the crowded Asansol-Raniganj-Andal-Durgapur and Kharagpur-Tikiapara-Howrah routes, which are often congested with goods traffic. With a reduction of 41 km in distance, the journey time between Bankura and Howrah will also be reduced from 4 hours to 3 hours. Additionally, it seems that most stations between BQA and MSAE have good PPM figures, which is a positive indication.
The ongoing renewal and restructuring work in the Bankura Masagram section is expected to be completed by 04.02.2022. The proposal for two new loops at Beliatore and Rainagar, along with the presence of crossing stations like Bowaichandi and Sonamukhi, will contribute to smoother train operations. The TSS foundation at Indas, which will power the OHE, will enable simultaneous train operations at higher speeds.
To ensure efficient operations, it is crucial to increase the MPS to 110 kmph for express trains, while MEMUs and passenger services should operate at an average speed of 45 kmph. Installing signal posts at eligible halt stations and synchronizing interlockings at all stations will help facilitate smooth traffic movement in both directions. These enhancements will play a vital role in supporting reserved operations.
