Choice of trains to be diverted/extended should be careful as not always it will lead to good patronage and only avg speed will fall bcoz despite 50 years of history, population still too low for the capital city, (around 2 lakh mark) that too mostly state government staff.
Naya raipur will also go down the same lane as inhabitancy is not increasing at the rate expected by state govt.
People not ready to move out 25 km away from old city hub owing to various factors

Before shatabdi Gujarat mail should be extended to Gandhinagar to check the demand. Shatabdi arrives past 1300 and leaves by 1430 approx so will the bureaucrats prefer to arrive at past half day and attend to official work is a question. Next there should be intercity leaving southen GJ Valsad /vapi to AHMD to reach Gandhinagar by 1100 and leave at 1700 similarly from Rajkot line.

There is no terminal facility available at GNC... Not even a parking line apart from station..
Only few passing trains will be available
And few new trains which will have SM over here with less TAT
And 2-3 extension just kevadiya got that
