in future after yard remodelling @ JAT there is a chance for extension of Hirakud Express upto JAT & by this way COA will get opportunity to connect with J&K too so please think once again

Yes extention to Jammu is proposed as the train is staying in ASR for 24hours but not given go-ahead citing non availability of maintainance slot at Jammu. This extention will be more useful from BBS SBP BSP travellers. The distance from COA to NDLS for Hirakud will be 2300km and travelling time 39+3 hrs total 42hrs whereas mainline via BZA is 1950km travel time is 30hrs. So doesn't have adavantage. Instead the present SJ can be delinked from Samatha which now 5days increased to daily with 2 days via Raipur Bilaspur from VSKP. Give two rakes for SJ and extend to Jammu/katra with biweekly. The berths which are vacant at NDLS will be filled to katra at NDLS as it will be perfect overnight journey in both sides. This wil help IR in revenue generation and connectivity to travellers.
