A weird situation.
EMDs aren't allowed in the Pamban Bridge. But,how's WDG-3A allowed?I just went through the mass of locos in a detailed chart available at IRFCA,the mass of WDG-3As is 123 tons, whereas the mass of WDP-4 is 119 tons and WDP-4B is 121.2 tons! Also checked whether WDG-3As haul only short rakes in the section, instead it actually is a link of the full 23 coacher Sethu Express and many other trains that is from the Rameswaram Island!
Is there any reason behind this?People who know this please put light on this :)
Thanks...
more... in advance.
Edit:Even though T.E. is a concern,the T.E. of WDG-3A is actually more than all the WDP-4 class locomotives.The T.E. of WDG-3A is 40 ton which is 39600 kg,and the WDP-4B/4D has 39180 kg T.E.
The height of WDG-3A according to an IR document which I got is 4326 mm and the WDP-4/4B are 4264 mm and WDP-4D at 4211.6 mm.
please wait...Translate to HindiEk ajib sa situation hai. Pamban Bridge mein EMDs allowed nahi hai, magar WDG-3A kaise allowed hai? Maine IRFCA ke ek detailed chart mein locos ki mass check ki aur WDG-3As ki mass 123 ton hai, jisme WDP-4 ki mass 119 ton hai aur WDP-4B ki 121.2 ton hai! Maine ye bhi check kiya ki shayad WDG-3As sirf chote rakes ko haul karte honge par is jagah pe toh 23-coach Sethu Express se lekar kayi trains ka full link hai jo Rameswaram Island se hai! Iske piche koi vajah hai kya? Agar kisi ko iske baare mein pata hai toh please bataiye :) Shukriya pehle se! Edit: TE ki baat karne se pehle, WDG-3A ki TE actually sabhi WDP-4 ki class locomotives se jyada hai. WDG-3A ki TE 40 ton hai jo ki 39600 kg hai aur WDP-4B/4D ki TE 39180 kg hai. WDG-3A ki height ek IR document ke according 4326 mm hai aur WDP-4/4B ki 4264 mm hai aur WDP-4D 4211.6 mm hai.
