TRAIN COACHES WRAPPED IN THE ‘COLOUR OF VALOUR’ TO COMMEMORATE 20TH “KARGIL VIJAY DIWAS”

A function was held today (15.07.2019) at New Delhi Railway Station where a vinyl wrapped train rake was flagged off by the Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Hon'ble Union Minster for Health and Family Welfare, Science and Technology and Earth Sciences, Sh. Suresh C. Angadi, Hon'ble Union Minister of State for Railways and Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi, Hon’ble MP, Lok Sabha. The rake was attached to the 14258 Kashi-Vishwanath New Delhi – Varanasi Express Train. Lt. General Asit Mistry, AVSM, SM, VSM, General – Officer - Commanding Delhi Area, Lt. General Shantanu Dayal, AVSM, SM, VSM, DG DC&W, family members of Kargil Martyrs and Vishal Batra twin brother of Shaheed Capt. Vikram Batra were also present on the occasion. Sh. T.P. Singh General Manager, Northern Railway and other senior officials of Northern Railway and Delhi Division also participated in the function.
Addressing the gathering Sh. Angadi, MoSR said that this is a tribute of one big department to another one, where we all are serving the nation in our own ways. The vinyl wrapped trains carrying the message of extreme courage and sacrifice by the armed forces during the Kargil war will reach the remote villages, towns and cities conjuring respect and gratitude for the soldiers.
