On 17 May 2019, a joint inspection done by #SER and #ER officials.
The two coaches inspection car started from Santragachi, and went through Ramrajatala - Dasnagar - Tikiapara - Liluah - Belur - Bally - Belanagar - Rajchandrapur - Dumdum - Kolkata - Majherhat - Ballygunge - Park Circus - Sir Gurudas Banerjee Halt - Bidhannagar Road - Dumdum - Rajchandrapur - Bhattanagar - Balitikuri - Bankranayabaz - Santragachi.
Good initiative but why long route from santragachi via ramrajatala, dasnagar, liluah...it should be direct from santragachi via the amta route to bally/ dankuni that route. And from KHARAGPUR via Andul....Via dasnagar and liluah too much rush...of SER trains towards howrah, ER chord and main line train towards howrah goods trains also pass via thst howrah bypass line from liluah to tikiapara...
But good initiative a direct train from KHARAGPUR to dumdum or Sealdah is required....
But my question is why SER do not take this initiative first...why ER always takes...

Yes Digha has huge potential almost similar to New jalpaiguri stn...because Digha, Darjeeling, siliguri are the main tourist destinations for bengali in short trips. Digha has huge potential for Passenger train...should be connected very well to all parts of WB specially to Kharagpur, bankura, jhargram, purulia, burdwan, birbhum all over.....no emu direct train from howrah till date have to do break journeys not possible for tourists with luggage. SER has fully neglected digha over years.....i think had digha been on ER then till now full connectivity to all over WB by EMU,MEMU, PGR,EXPREss train would have been establised with pitlines yards etc at Digha....but SER useless....only freight trains of haldia dock runs through panskura-tamluk-haldia stress no importance to Passenger trains.
