Something which was told to me offline by one railway staff at Carmelaram station was the fact that these days trains are running with some speed restriction limit after Bypanahalli due to track repairs etc. The next available stop for crossing is Carmelaram which is about 12km away. It takes about 20 min for trains to reach Carmelaram.
Any crossing at Carmelaram leads to a longer wait period and simultaneous pile up of vehicles at Sarjapur road. There is a level crossing right at the station.
