Something which was told to me offline by one railway staff at Carmelaram station was the fact that these days trains are running with some speed restriction limit after Bypanahalli due to track repairs etc. The next available stop for crossing is Carmelaram which is about 12km away. It takes about 20 min for trains to reach Carmelaram.
Any crossing at Carmelaram leads to a longer wait period and simultaneous pile up of vehicles at Sarjapur road. There is a level crossing right at the station. They do end up facing these issues. Many times it is seen that few trains from HSRA bound for Bangalore/YPR are halted just before Carmelaram and only enter the station when another train comes from the

opposite direction. This is done to minimise the waiting period at the station .
Ideal scenario would have been had Bellandur road station also been a crossing point.
Ideally railways should have had the foresight to double this stretch much earlier. Now it has turned out be a crucial point for travel of techies/office goers etc

Yes. You are right. In August 2018, Railways asked the BBMP to widen the road near the railway crossing. but they sat over it. Just recently the local MP has sanctioned some amt from his local fund to widen the road. But ideally rail overbidge is the best option in long term.None of the agencies are taking accountability for their work.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
