Thanks for the reply, even I was thinking on the same lines- Maybe I can go for tatkal ticket. But I have a doubt.... tatkal quota starts two days prior to the journey date right?? So if my DOJ is say 11 May I have to book on 9 May, right?? Just to know the no of seats I have searched for seat avilability and the result is as follows:

u can see, GT @ 11 May from BPL has started @ 8 MAY from NDLS!!!
TATKAL Quota is same across NDLS , AGC, MTJ, GWL, BPL, ET, NGP etc, just opening day differs.
So, the Quota has been utilized from NDLS or other stations on the opening day itself, i.e. 8 May, leaving WL only!!!
Now, if u have to travel from BPL onwards on 11 May, u should book GWL-BZA (JourneyDate - 10 May) on 8 May, morning @ 8am.
Then @ any PRS Counter, anytime b4 24 hrs of schedule departure, u can get Boarding changed from GWL to BPL!!!!

Phew!!! That was a life saver. Thank you very much!!
So for my journey on 23 May from Bhopal to Vijayawada, I can book the ticket from GWL to Vijayawada for DOJ 22 May on 20 May itself, instead of waiting till 21 May and get the boarding point later changed to Bhopal...

a tatkal ticket from the reservation counter at railway station instead of trying to book an e-ticket at home or office (i have tried to book tatkal e-ticket 2 times earlier but without luck)??
2. Can I book tatkal ticket for journey originating from GWL -from reservation counter at Indore (coz I stay in Indore)??
3. How can I get the boarding point changed- will it be possible immediately after booking the ticket??

1. Yeah. PRS Counter are faster, coz of various benefit they enjoy over home/office/agent connection
2. You can book tatkal from any station for any station combination, provided station do have PRS Facility!!!!!
3. Immediately after tatkal booking, i dont think he would appreciate ur request, cz like u there would be many looking for confirmed tatkal ticket!!! Wait & get some tea. When u find some relaxed atmosphere there, try!!!!
