Jab yeh train announce hui thi Surat se Hydarabad chalne wali thi bcz tab Gujrat me election the. ab MP me election hai isliye surat ki bajaye Indore se chala di . 600 seats me se 546 seats khali hai next run ke liye. kya flop train inaugural karke railway ka nuksaan karwa ke election me fayda mil sakta hai?
This train if it was Exp or SF then it would be a hit. Not the flop concept of Humsafar. No matter how the supporters spin it - Humafar is a flop. A waste of LHB coaches, when an ordinary mixed class train would have served all.
tell me one thing is there any other class which is profitable apart from 3A. A 50 % full humsafar will fetch same revenue as so called mixed train and to add in peak season when demand is high the humsafar will fetch more revenue than a normal mail/express. I agree that most of the humsafars do not have good schedules but this can be improved in next TT change
Its just not about profit. Exploding population and extensive migration needs good public transportation to sustain it. IR needs to serve all classes of people. Not just wasting a rake, slot and resources for few people who travel in these trains. And this HS, that Tejas -are all flop. Few HS make profit, but still instead they should run a mixed train to serve all . Let there be same 3AC to serve these people, SL for those who can afford just that. And GEN for the poor. Half empty humsafar will fetch you more revenue than a full mixed train. Railway has to pay salary to its employee from where will that money has come . Please note that railway is losing significant goods traffic to road sector due to high fare and so now they have no option but to target more revenue from passenger train segment. BTW along with the humsafars railway is also introducing the antyodaya which is fully unreserved trains all it needed is to do better publicity as folks travelling in general class are not those tech savy
Most of these flop trains didn't even fill half. Trains like that TPTY HS hardly one coach filled many times. Apart from few HS, others are white elephants. Have 8- 10 coaches of AC. Rest can be SL and GEN. Then IR makes profit and also reduces burden on other trains with these trains carrying some load.
