It seems that the time when our Railways system and authorities were serious about Rajdhani, its prestige and reputation is gone and all of those have started to fade.
There was a time when Rajdhanis were the advanced trains, first ones to be upgraded when it came to locomotives or coaches. The punctuality was top notch and no zone would dare to mess up with that.
But today we have Humsafar with features like USB charging points, Male urinals, coffee machine, curtains, dedicated livery. Some of these amenities/modifications are lacking in...
more... Rajdhanis. In long distance Rajdhanis like DBRT RAJ, it is common to see pile of dirt at every corner, rats and rodents in the trains etc.
Possibly, with presence of so many "named" train products like GR, Duronto, Sampark Kranti, Humsafar, Tejas, Uday; the value of "named" products has gone done which has hurt Rajdhani. I'd not like to elaborately mention the obvious "work ethic" problem of our Railway officials. One of the possibilities of the same could also be that, earlier the MOST prestigious train of India had attention of topmost officials of the RB. Today, they've a replacement (bullet trains) in their mind. And it would not be a surprise to see grip of authorities' attention towards Rajdhanis getting loosened with time as bullet trains take up on various routes in the coming decades.
It is not only about livery but much more!
