This proposal is really great and useful for thousands of passengers from Karwar/Udupi/Mangalore/Hassan/Kannur, who can save around 80 kilometers in running distance and saving 2 hours in rake/loco reversals at Hassan & Mysore, plus long halting time. Also, departure from Kannur shall be 6.25PM, instead of 4.30PM for saving 2 hours which is being wasted for the past 10 years. But, it will negatively affect passengers to Mysore, Mandya, Maddur, etc from Karwar, Udupi, Mangalore, Hassan, areas where there are a considerable number of passengers in these routes. As there is hardly no passenger traveling in this train from Kannur/Kasargod to Mysore/Mandya, this decision will not affect passengers from Malabar, as they are using much faster buses for these area.
