IRly is reportedly facing shortage of Locos, Coaches and other rolling stock and is unable to augment all its popular trains to 24/26 coaches. If 10% coaches are to be exported, then capacity of existing production and rehabilitation units need to be ramped up. Alternatively full scale production from Raibareli, new projects at Kerala and Others need to be expedited.
With electrification going at very brisk pace, the need for diesel locos requirement will be reduced in future, then DLW can go for export in a big way as electrification is very less in countries which traditionally are markets for export of our rly stocks.
