I would like to add few more points:
There is no loss for SBC/ YPR public towards MAS or towards UBL. Let me elaborate.
Now, it leaves just after SBC ICE and before Sangamitra and reaches 1hr 15 min later than Sanga. Who will prefer this train in that sector? You have a high capacity ICE and faster Sanga. After all, entire MAS-SBC is just a 6 hr journey. So no problem.

more... MAS, who will go to YPR to board this train at 0530 to reach MAS at 1155, paying sleeper class charges? You have Lalbagh at 0630, which is faster and reaches MAS at 1215, just 20 min after VSG/ UBL-MAS exp.
In fact, you will find more pax in MAS-SBC at 2200 slot than at 1355 slot. Return journey, no trains from SBC after 0900 towards MAS, so this train will fill the slot suitably.
For SBC-Goa pax, for both directions, you have a daily link through Rani Chennamma at around same time. So, here also no problem. Will get one more addl train.
In summary, we can say that apart from benefitting MAS-VSG pax, it will be benefitting MAS-SBC and TK-VSG pax also.
