service began running on February 16, 2002, and is one of the fastest train services in India on that route, traversing the 1000 km distance in under fourteen and half hours, which is faster than the previous Magadh Express Patna-New Delhi service and the Shramjeevi express on the same route. The train makes only two stops between Patna and New Delhi: at Kanpur Central and Mughalsarai. However, the train has no commercial stoppage between Patna and New Delhi. It has LHB sleeper and AC coaches.
