For the benefit of tourist, it has been decided to augment one FCZ Coach (Slip Coach) with the Train No. 52540 from Darjeeling to Kurseong with effect from 01-10-2022. The one way fare from Kurseong to Darjeeling and vice-versa will be Rs. 750/

Presently This Train Runs With 2 Coaches. 1 Non AC First Class & 1 Vistadome Coach. I Traveled In This Train On 20th Sept 2021 From Darjeeling To NJP

Findings: Coaches Are Not Well Maintained. Vistadome Coach Is Already In A Bad Shape Despite Being Not So Old. The Fibers Are Not Properly Cleaned. Also, The Chairs Are Not Comfortable. Also It Doesnt Have A Restroom

I Traveled By The First Class Coach. Chairs Are Cushioned & Much More Comfortable. But Most Of The Windows Are Jammed & You Cant Move Them. This Coach Has An Indian Restroom ( No WC) Which Is Very Small. You Don't Get Any On-Board Food. You Can Buy Your Food At Kurseong Or Tindharia. At Tindharia, Local Vendors Will Board The Train & Sell Momos

Last, But Not The Least.... If You Plan For A Connecting Train, Have A Buffer Of 4 Hours At Least. DHR Never Runs On Time. We Reached NJP With A Delay Of 1 Hr 45 Mins

There is a lunch stop of at least 10 minutes at Tindharia station, which is where the up and down trains cross each other. If your train is the first to arrive, the stop can be longer depending on how long the pairing train takes to arrive for the crossing. Lunch can be purchased from the refreshment room, though there is a small restaurant a minute's walk north of the station where you can get hot momos to eat - much better.
