The cancellations are causing overcrowding and waiting lists on remaining trains, particularly for long-distance journeys like the Goa Express, Mangala Express, Jhelum Express, Punjab Mail, and Kerala Express. The situation is further aggravated by the upcoming New Year holidays and wedding season. Additionally, train services like the Gwalior-Barauni train (11123/11124) have been cancelled on certain days due to fog, and the Mathura yard remodelling has led to the cancellation of over 20 trains, including the Taj Express for 32 days and the Gatimaan Express for 8 days. Several other trains have also been cancelled for specific dates in December, causing inconvenience to passengers.
