Rajendra Prasad, the leading activist of the Katras railway movement, demanded that the 26 pairs of trains, including the Dhanbad-Chandrapura passenger train, be restarted and stationed in Katras. He spoke at a program organized at the Katras railway station on June 15th, in memory of the blockade of the Dhanbad-Karas-Chandrapura rail line. The decision has been made to present a memorandum to the Mahaprabandhak of the East Central Railway Zone and the DRM of Dhanbad Division to restart the stopped trains. Seeing the gathering of protesters, the railway deployed a large number of RPF personnel at the station. It should be noted that on June 15th, 2017, the Rail Ministry had stopped the train service on this route, blocking the Dhanbad-Chandrapura rail line citing the danger of fire. After 20 months and 10 days of non-violent protests in opposition to this, train service was resumed on the DC line. Since then, protesters have celebrated June 15th as a black day to commemorate the railway line blockade. On this occasion, local people gathered in large numbers at the Katras railway station on Thursday.
