Gauge Conversion of Railway line From Jetalsar Junction to Dhasa Junction
Since a long time it is pending people of saurastra, Amreli district and Rajkot district, wrote a several letter to Bhavnagar division and Rajkot division for the conversion of the old Meter gauge line to broad gauge line. Jetalsar Junction to Dhasa Junction nearly 95-100 kilometer distance are remained to convert meter gauge line to Broad gauge. Since 1990 our urgent requirement is to convert old meter gauge line from Jetalsar Junction to Dhasa Junction. Due to the only the section of meter gauge, people of Saurastra, Amreli Dist., Junagadg Dist. and Rajkot Dist. have lot of difficulty in traveling

. particularly in long journy. People have to change train from meter gauge to broad gauge at three station. Traveling from Jetalsar to Bhavnagar Or Veraval to Bhavnagar and even Bhavnagar terminus to Dhasa Junction, no direct train is available because of the meter gauge section from Dhasa to Jetalsar. To go Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai Hyderabad, kolkata and Hridwari is not possible through train but we have to change the train from three to four station.
Due to the meter gauge section transportation of goods are costly and time consuming. Privet busses and state transportation charges are too much costly and poor people only suffering. Day by day petrol price and diesel price going up and road transportation charges going up. Burden increases only on poor head.

Saurastra and other district of Gujarat are ahead in business and industrial status. Both railways and Indian people can get benefits of this project. Therefore, we all saurastra peoples are requested to add in the next rail budget i.e 20011-2012 railway budget. If it possible, Please send draft proposal to railway mantralay or, and others, who can support the above work. Please try to note the point and send the draft proposal to railway mantralay or direct to MAMATA BENERAJI for fund to GC of Dhasa-Jetasar line

Dhasa Jetalsar Passenger/304WR was running from Dhasa at 5.00 pm departure it was very good to get Rajkot - veravel -form Jetalsar for veravel and Junagadh. Link train should be started from Bhavnagar to Dhasa at 3.00.pm BG train or Demu sould be started from Bhavnagar to Dhasa Temperary at 300 pm form Bhavnagar.
Special Note : It is very good for all people of sorath, saurashtra, and Bhavnagar, Porbandar, Amreli and Veravel, If Dhasa -Jetalsar line convert into broad gauge as speed as possible.

Good information. I would like to know the progress as of now on the Guage conversion on sector - Dhasa to Jetalsar - which is undergoing for quite many months. Plz inform if you have any information on this.
Secondly, Rlys spent crores of rupees on Guage convresion. But Why ? There is no answer for this why in the case of Guage conversion on the sector - Dhola-Mahuva (152 kms) which has been completed and opened up for commercial passenger trains for last 3 years. But yet, at present, only one weekly - long distance is running i.e. Mahuva-Surat. The Railways ought to try to milch this route and cover up the cost

incurred on Guage conversions. Even there is a need to have a slip route (coaches for Mahuva) on the Bhavnagar -Mumbai Express Train. Or the train for a weekly train between Mahuva-Surat be extended to Bandra (Mumbai) and made daily train. The proposal is very much lying with the WR Zonal office but the dream appears to be at distance.
Railways receives lots of demand for guage conversion, new train routes but here the situation is favourable and positive for Railways. No such expenditure as ready made tracks (waiting for more rakes to run on) -- only trains to be operated.

Nice views. Then, the justification of SOMNATH station when there is no facility for maintanence just causing traffic jams over the two crossings. To board the train you have to walk 1.5 km. A lot needs to be done in this sector. Veraval-Bhavnagar line needs to become operative.
