After descending from the Longtarai hill range, we pulled into Ambassa. The 52579 Agartala-Dharmanagar Pass. was waiting for us and departed as soon as came to a halt. A few minutes after that, we proceeded on towards Mungiakami. The Dhalai river bridge can be seen towards the end of the video.

The 1.962 km Longtarai Tunnel - Longest in NFR (Feb. 27, 2013) : After Manu, our train ascended the Longtarai range and encountered a 1.962 km tunnel. This is in Dhalai district of Tripura and is the longest one in all of NFR. It took us a little less than four minutes to cross it. I enjoyed the combination of flat wheel track sounds and rumble inside the tunnel.

Soothing Departure from Manu : (Feb. 27, 2013) After descending from the Sakhan range, we arrived at the quaint station of Manu. As the train departed from Manu, I stood at the door to enjoy a soothing run. The train took a gentle curve and crossed the Manu river. Video ends with a shot of the ACC coach interior.
FYI, the Manu river travels through the Sylhet plains and joins the Kushiyara River at Manumukh, Bangladesh. Manu used to the rail terminus of Tripura from 2002 to 2008.

Refreshing Morning Run - Dharmanagar-Agartala Pass. (Feb. 27, 2013) : Few minutes after departing from Dharmanagar, I decided to join Colin and Rajkumar at the door to enjoy the passing scenery and track sounds. On the left side, I could discern mist in the distance and, on the other side, it was hard to miss the shadow of the rake accompanying us. Seemed like the perfect start to the trip!
Somewhere in there is a brief discussion on Vaigai/Pallavan Exps. and YAM1 :-) Note that the track has been laid on BG sleepers, in preparation for conversion.
