But need 4 lines and that extra one new double line on right side for UBL can be taken up in future for GDG-Binkadkatti stretch double line.
Right even I was expecting same, during my last visit. I have visited Gdg after almost 3 yrs. But there was no sign for 4 lines :(
I think they might go for two new lines at right towrds bijapur line and both can be taken to Bijapur and present UBL line and one existing Bijapur line can be made as UP/down UBL line as their is space constraint on left side so like this they may do i guess.
One more thing i need to clarify here is that Binkadkatti new double line is on left side and it stopped some distance after that LC gate where new ROB getting constructed and Beside that in right side it is Existing Hubli line and after that Bijapur line so if they want to merge to Existing Bijapur line they will be not stopping that line to the left side of existng UBL line it will be on right side. As per your guess if they want to merge like that means new line has to cross the existing UBL line so it will be not double line then as both UBL line get cross intersected. instead wat i guess the present UBL line will be just breaked and slightly curve it and join new stoped line and one more track the leftover track from binkadkatti side is joined to Bijapur...

You are right there is slight curve after existing gate after LC gate and this is from the times of MG, by looking at that i thought they might have thought to do something with the help of existing Bjp line, agree beside new double line construction on Bjp side there is no extra space for one more line, as it will converge ahead due to some old resident areas close to that RUB
