Not really, early morning and late night there are challenges in getting public transport.
I don't think it is as congested now. There are 6 platforms here. After Suryanagari, Mandore back to back departures, its relatively free.
Any specific reasons, why this is being done. I think it is due to public demand that it is being done.
Since the station is bang opposite the University New campus, the road is very deserted during off peak hours. Autos charge a bomb for small distances also. Minimum fare starts from Rs. 200. You have to bargain a lot to get reasonable fare.
