Via BGM route is under utilized compared to Konkan, but still run this train via Panvel only, don't know why.
11098/97 Poorna weekly Express from PUNE to ERS runs via MRJ, MAO, MAJN. There should be limitations in operating more services on that route due to ghat section & steep gradients between LD & MAO.
KR Route is shorter than Pune-Miraj-Belgaum route. That's why trains go via.KR
11098 is a super crawler between Mangalore and Pune. Morning 7.30 it reaches MAJN, waits for 30 min, reaches MAO by 1340 hours and waits till 1430-1500, reaches Londa by 1730 and waits there till 1830 and likewise. But SF is at convenient timings for MAJN to Pune passengers.
11097/11098 is the only direct link to mangalore/kerala for a lot of passengers from Satara,Miraj,Belgaum.Also quite surprisingly lots of passengers from Udupi,Mangalore,Kannur,CLT use the same to travel to EKM since it is on Sunday. Most people would be returning to EKM in this train after the weekend.
Seats available still. Hope people are aware of this service. Should be able to clear the excessive rush during Christmas and new year.
