Parcel office is located at The Sarai kale khan end besides PF 8. There is a motorable underpass from PF1 end providing for moving of parcels between the two ends.
Open Monday to Saturday 11 am to 7 pm.
The quality of service you get depends up on how much extra sum you are able to shell out to the porters and clerks. If you make them happy, your luggage can be packed and booked within 15 minutes bypassing the long queue of luggage carts.

the official charge by railways is very reasonable, one important thing to note is one package weight shouldn't exceed 150 kg with predefined set of dimensions for the three gauges .(BG/MG/NG).
While the packing charges are optional if you get the baggage packed well by yourself( would suggest strong gunny water proof XL bags due to the rough handling by porters while shifting it), loading and unloading charges are mandatory yet not fixed. It depends up on your bargaining power. But remember not to cross extreme as the luggage may get dumped in the office for months in their mercy. Apart, there are many factors like it may be dumped into wrong train or sent to wrong place intetionally.
Once unloaded at the destination, there is a fixed time period with in which you should receive them with gate pass else you will be charged extra wharfage charge as attached in the pic.
Luggage booking is more reliable than parcel booking though you should be careful about timings and reach the station with baggage 5-6 hrs prior to the scheduled departure time of the train traveling in.
One more suggestion is to choose end to end journey train if possible. It would negate the chances of baggage traveling extra mile due to non availability of porters at destination station or less stoppage time of that train at the destination station.
