106.89 crore, has been approved. An allocation of Rs. 10 crore has been made for the project in the 2023-24 financial year. The Eastern Coast Railway zone has been entrusted with the responsibility of land surveying, layout planning for the zonal headquarters complex, residential colony, and other constructions. The DPR proposes constructing the zonal headquarters on 52.2 acres of land in Mudasarlova. However, the Andhra Pradesh government has to allocate this land to the railways, as the state government had acquired some railway land for the Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS). The minister also mentioned that permission was granted in April 2023 for the construction of 3rd and 4th lines between Visakhapatnam Junction and Gopalapatnam, spanning 15.31 km at a cost of Rs. 159.47 crore.
