A video of the assault went viral, prompting the Railway SP, Dr. Gaurav Mangla, to suspend the two officers, Dayanand Paswan and Gorelal Chaudhary, and initiate an investigation. Furqan, a resident of Gadha village, was accompanying his aunt to Mumbai on the Karmabhoomi Express. The fight started over a seat and escalated into a brawl. The police, upon arrival, allegedly beat Furqan severely with batons. Furqan, who had previously undergone abdominal surgery, suffered a tear in the stitches due to the beating, exposing his intestines. Dr. Apurv Agarwal, who treated Furqan, confirmed that his stitches had burst open due to the blows, requiring immediate surgery. While the Railway SP stated that Furqan is out of danger, a video on social media shows the two officers assaulting Furqan. Another video shows the GRP officers demanding money for seats, but the Railway SP stated that this claim is untrue. The incident sparked outrage among locals who vandalized the station superintendent's office, causing injuries to a patsman, Gaurav Kumar. The police from Pupuri station reached the spot and brought the situation under control.
