The 2 km long Rail-cum-Road Rajendra Bridge opened in 1959 on the Barauni-Mokama Section is the currently the only bridge which provides a rail link between North Bihar and South Bihar; the other one at Varanasi 350 km west and at Farakka in the east.
On an average, every 18 minutes a train moves across Ganges through this bridge (that too on a single BG Bridge).
REALLY BIG BRIDGE . CEOSSED IT MANY TIMES WHILE TO SIWAN FROM HWH
Expecting a lot from the Ganga Rail-Road bridge in Patna which is more than 2x times its size
it would be helpful for trains coming from Varanasi, Mughalsarai and crossing the bridge via Dildarnagar and entering North Bihar.
it would be useful for Patna Bound trains too.,
But for that the capacity of dildarnagar railway station has to be increased.
and tarighat railway station has just 1 single platform.

Me to my family lives in north Bihar (chhapra and siwan) and my relatives in Patna . whenever I come to Bihar. I have to cross mahatma Gandhi setu which always either in maintainence or closed . so there's a lot of wastage of time..

Much Clearer Pic Station Code : DKGS
great tribute to dinkar sahab ....
hats off to the man ...
Blog Entry Unlocked.
To change code, name.
The new station DKGS has been added to the Atlas. We are also retaining the old station code SAE since various TTs, Seat Availability, Fare Chart, etc. still use the old station code SAE. (but the name for both station codes now stand at Dinkar Gram Simaria).
Thanks for informing.
