The Railway Vikas Nigam Limited had requested a 75-day block for doubling the line from Prayagraj Rambag to Prayagraj Junction, which involved converting loop line number four at Rambag station into the main line and constructing a new platform. This request was later approved for 45 days and further extended for 15 days. The work has now been completed. The next step involves installing electronic interlocking at the junction. Once this is done, trains can run at a maximum speed of 120 km/h on the converted loop line number four at Rambag station. The General Manager of RVNL, VK Agarwal, stated that 2,000 tractor loads of earth were excavated for the new line. After laying the material for the main line, a new platform with three sheds was built. A foot overbridge was extended, and work is currently underway to construct ramps for the differently abled on another foot overbridge.
