As a safety precaution, the train was held at the station for 8.5 hours. Meanwhile, the railway cancelled a significant number of passenger trains operating in the Chakradharpur Railway Division, mostly those running between Tata and Rourkela. This cancellation caused further distress to passengers, leading to overcrowding at the ticket counters. The incident occurred late at night when Naxals detonated a bomb between Goilkera and Posaita stations in the Chakradharpur Railway Division, damaging the third line. This disruption resulted in a 10-hour standstill of train operations across the division, with several trains stranded in Naxal-affected areas like Goilkera and Manoharpur. The incident has raised concerns for railway officials, as the safety of train operations remains a challenge, particularly during nighttime.
