Questions have arisen regarding the permission given to the power company's contractor to work on cabling during the passage of the passenger train. The State Power Distribution Company Limited (CSPDCLL) claims they had permission from the railway division, but railway officials claim the work was carried out without permission. The power company has issued a show-cause notice to the contracting company, Messers Siddhi Vinayak Construction Bilaspur, and suspended their registration for three years. The company's FD deposit of one crore rupees has been confiscated. The RPF has seized the drilling machine, iron pipe, water tanker, tractor, and truck from the incident site.
