By June 2022, Eastern DFC from Delhi-Prayagraj is expected to be commissioned, and NDLS-CNB Shatabdi is likely to be extended by 195kms to Prayagraj.
** It is worth mentioning that during late 80s, in the tenure of late Madhav R Scindia as RM, first 160kmph "Super Shatabdi" was planned between NDLS-ALD after track upgradation, but it could not happen.
** Let us hope that by 2022 NDLS-ALD route is upgraded to 160kmph and the old dream "Super Shatabdi" gets realized with extension of NDLS-CNB shatabdi to ALD.
