Well i believe the solution of this problem is to have Elevated Railway Track. You can refer to Kenya railway for that. In order to protect wild life in one of the biggest National Park they built the elevated rail line ( Mombasa to Nairobi) in the national Park section. One can google for the same. It will not be 100 % effective at least it will reduce the causalities drastically.

Yes the surveys are already completed and submitted to SWR. It has three routes mentioned around Bgm
2. Preliminary Engineering-cum-Traffic survey for new line between Kolhapur-Dharwad (220.60 km)
2. Preliminary Engg-cum Traffic Surveyfor a new line between Belgaum-Samantwadi (114.6 km)
12.
...
PET Survey for new line between Belgaum - Hubli via Kitturu (91.00 Kms.)
16. Updating survey for new line between Dharwad-Belgaum (91 Km)
As we can see the line survey updated twice, it is most likely to get sanctioned. We have to see when it will be 2019 or 2020.
This new update route can be life saver for many wild animals, if sanctioned. Major traffic going to north can be avoided from forest route of Londa.

Actually there is outer/by-pass line also coming up in Dharwad - Hubballi - Gadag section, Which will be between Kusugal and Amargol. In that by-pass route we might have a new station as Hubballi North, if they are considering this as starting point for new Bgm line then distance might reduce by 5--10 kms. But ultimately it has to go from Dwr, so even i am wondering how distance will be same from both Ubl/Dwr to Bgm as 91 kms.

That freight bypass it will be going just after kusugal station and enjoins dharwad line at Amargoal station and by this line distance between gadag-belgaum is reduced but pax trains will not go from their bypassing Hubli junction so its only for frieghts. dont know how it will be same distance from UBL/DWR to BGM as i think from DWR it will 91km is possible for BGM but doubtful from UBL-BGM 91km will have to see it once the route they disclose after sanctioning.
