Re# 2259733-1
* If IR is organiser of ‘Global Technology Conference’, then who have stopped it to participate in the event??
* IR is not participating because it does not have any state of the art technological development worthy to showcase before the world railway fraternity. By world standards, R&D in IR can at the best be called "Mediocre" which only the under developed and a few developing countries think is good enough for them.

It is better to acquire off the shelf technology else IR shall continue to lag in technology and gradually head towards obsolescence.
* Indian scientists, technologists, engineers have played a vital role in innovation capital of the world(USA), and are second to none. But the funding, infrastructural support and general environment for R&D in our country is lacking.
* In most of the organisations, Design, Research, & development sections are considered as loop lines with no/little scope for promotion & growth.
