Mumbai's railway network is one of the most congested in the world, and easy solutions are impossible due to ultimate space crunch in the island city.
The costlier options of underground and elevated metro are the only solutions. But these are feasible only if the fares are rationalised to make such projects financially viable and political will is there so that implementation of the project is practically feasible.
