For trains like Island express, kerala express & Mumbai kanyakumari express it is quite important that they are speeded up. Not sure whether railways will be able to make significant changes as Island express & Kanyakumari express are depended upin by daily passengers in certain secctors with their current timings. Though Island express time of arrival at ERN is 17:45 hours, its a record that it never enters the station prior to 6pm...always comes around 6:15-6:20 pm on daily basis.
The moment railways plays around the schedules of these trains , these people [daily passengers] start protests unnecesarily

I don't think so any change in running time due to this. Island is a "passenger", so no change can expect.
