IR cleverly hikes the short distance passenger fares that too for non-sub urban .There should be no discrimination between short distance passenger fares .
Sub-urban train fares are hiked already sir. If railways started increasing fares of non-sub urban with sub urban trains the fare hike will pinch even badly.
The urban earning per person is better in Urban India in comparison to Rural areas.But Fare is just Reverse.I think there should be parity in the fare.
those fares are independently raised, at least for Mumbai.
In Mumbai, usually sub urban fares are raised before they are done on non-sub urban. this isn't very common.

IT couldn't hike the Mumbai Sub-urban fares.Thanks to the Mumbai Sub-urban commuters who take care of the entire IR sub-urban fares.
