The Commissioner of Railway Safety, Southern Circle, Bengaluru, has communicated his authorisation for operating passenger train services in the 54.720-km stretch of Pollachi Junction - Palakkad...
It is actually too high for a new line. Usually its 50-60 kmph for the first 2-4 years, and as the tracks and soil beneath settle down, they gradually increase it.
Tracks are fit for 120kmph..
But during the CRS inspection maximum speed clocked was 100kmph only..
