just put the whole system on an cloud, and let someone else manage it...IT is not a specialty of Indian Railways, rather running trains is...so let someone else take care of the infrastructure...in the long run it could be less loss making then adding expensive servers and buying annual maintenance contracts

yes that might be true...but it seems that the IRCTC is a behemoth of a enterprise application...it would be better and faster off with an overhaul and converting it into a could app...but then who will invest in such things....they will wait till the response time from IRCTC becomes infinite and all the requests time out and people booking the tickets go mad
