After back to back sketches of diesel trains, I tried an electric. The overhead catenary jungle is too irritating to the eyes!

the New Jalpaiguri - Howrah Shatabdi Express, zipping past Prantik.
I clicked this during my visit to Shantiniketan back in August.

Once this used to be the fastest diesel hauled train of India, with an average running speed of 72km/h and the first diesel train to touch a speed of 130km/h. Now on electric, it lost its uniqueness. Never mind, they call it development.

Pardon any mistakes.

several trains on this route have been canceled on Tuesday, and others have had their routes adjusted. The four trains canceled are the Katihar-Siliguri and Jogbani-Siliguri Intercity Expresses, along with the New Jalpaiguri-Howrah Shatabdi Express. Additionally, the route of the New Jalpaiguri-New Delhi Superfast Express has been adjusted. The Capital Express continues to operate on the Siliguri-New Jalpaiguri route. The Kanchanjungha Express accident occurred on Monday morning when a container-laden freight train collided with the train from behind near Rangapani station, approximately 30 kilometers from New Jalpaiguri station. The accident, resulting in the death of about a dozen passengers and injuries to many others, is suspected to have been caused by signal failure. The exact cause, however, will be determined after an investigation.

Cancel ki gayi chaar trains hain: Katihar-Siliguri aur Jogbani-Siliguri Intercity Expresses, saath hi New Jalpaiguri-Howrah Shatabdi Express. Iske alawa, New Jalpaiguri-New Delhi Superfast Express ka route adjust kiya gaya hai. Capital Express, Siliguri-New Jalpaiguri route pe chalti rahegi. Kanchanjungha Express accident Monday subah hua tha jab ek container-laden freight train ne New Jalpaiguri station se 30 km dur Rangapani station ke paas, train ko peeche se takkar maari thi. Is accident me, lagabhag ek darjan yaatriyon ki maut ho gayi aur bahut se log zakhmi ho gaye hain. Accident ke karan signal failure mana ja raha hai, lekin jaanch ke baad hi sachcha karan pata chalega.
