SCR Proposed for the permanent diversion of VSKP LTT Via GNT if So. the train exactly run with a difference of 5-10min behind Sabari express(17229) what about Sabari express then..? the train is already slowed after SRR by-pass if this VSKP LTT Joins the line the train will be slowed even more.
what's the point of diverting a train in a fully saturated line. The 18520 will have additional block B/W SC GNT of Approx 1hr 30min. in order to save 30km and a LR the train is now creating another headache in the entire stretch.

There were two overnight trains between TVC and MS in MG era namely 105/106 Trivandrum-Madras Mail and the 137/138 Trivandrum-Madras Super Express . One of them departed TVC midnoon arriving MS next day early morning ; another departed TVC night arriving MS late afternoon.

I am not sure about that ! But very back in days , it used to take two night and 1 day from TVC to MS in mail - this was when it was using steam and when it was introduced.

I saw drastic Quota reduction in Sabari exp yesterday and Todays ARP(13.01.2025 and 14.01.2025) couldn't check other days before as the train is already fully Waitlisted. earlier the train used to have 84 Lower quota from TVC to any destination, as lower berth assigning per coach For sure the train must have 7 Lower berth per coach in SL that means 84/7=12 that is equal to 12 SL. But on 14th Jan what i noticed is the train got only 70 lower berth where 70/7=10SL
For 17230 earlier the train had a dedicated 66Lower between SC to TVC but now even that is made to common 70Lower from SC to any destination.

SC to TPTY it was 300 reduced to 288
the reduction is seen in both directions as per this the train lost 2SLs reservation completely, booking is just done for 10SL and no change in 3A,2A Quotas again

what could be the reason for this reduction ..?

Could be replacement of 2SL with 2GS. SR is making 4 GS for all it's ICF trains too from January. Notification issued by SR for Yercaud Chennai Hyd, Chennai TVC Allepey RSA and other trains. So SCR may also follow the same for its ICF rakes.
