After study of various relevant literatures, various systems followed worldwide and interaction with leading locomotive manufacturers , an effort has been made through this paper to compile various technical issues related with traction motor mounting arrangement and its rotational speed which can be used as a ready reckoner by Rolling Stock Engineers in selecting appropriate system for Indian Railways.
