Yesterday it was due to unavailability of a suitable out-bound locomotive for the Southern half of the journey. Reached VSKP 5 mins late and started 1-55 hours late.

Not sure about the real root cause but there was a dearth of locos from the Southern side. A SRC WAP-7 brought it from HWH and a TATA WAP-7 took it to YPR from VSKP after a lot of deliberation.

There is difference between "have to be hauled" and "actually hauled on a particular day". Hope you are aware about "offlink".

I got a message that the train expected to depart on 20-Dec is cancelled. I booked flight ticket. After three hours got the above message. Eventually the train is cancelled. Unnecessary flip flop from Indian Railways!

12518 diverted via Gumani, Rampurhat, Barddhaman between Malda Town & Bandel. Will stop at Rampurhat, Barddhaman & Naihati instead of Azimganj, Katwa & Nabadwip Dham.
