Pgt- Poy crs inspection is slated for sept 8, once the line is opened it will be the shortest route to Madurai from central kerala. passenger associations are demanding for new trains between Ernakulam-Rameswaram, Ernakulam-Thoothukudi, Quilon-Velankanni and Manglore -Madurai through the new line. New services will be of great help for students from kerala , workers from tamilnadu and large number of devotees visiting holy places in both states.Now there are 9 daily buses from kochi to madurai, which charge around 800 rupees for a sleeper journey. plenty of omni buses operates from different parts of kerala to velankanni every weekend. apart from madurai, new line provides easy connectivity to palani,rameswaram, velankanni, nagore and trichi. If u still want to travel like MG times why do u spend this much amount for Bg conversion? Getting down at pgt for a connctn train was the aim of this 250cr gauge conversion.if u cant get seamls connectvity wt s the use.if any line s convertd frm mg to bg wil thy run only trains on the old mg route alone.u pepl r really dump let the new line connect more places n move peopl.dnt b so rigid n thinking

The gauge conversion of Palakkad Town Pollachi section is going to be completed soon, railway have earlier promised to run all the trains which were present when the track was MG. But comparing the traffic conditions at present and past we request railway to run much more trains on the track which will be quiet useful for the public.

only express trains are GuruvayoorChennai Egmore and Ananthapuri, on which the former is running on an improper time schedule inside Kerala which makes it not much useful and later cater the need of Thiruvananthapuram only.The proposed train will connect Sree Pathmanabha swami Temple, Sabarimala, Chakkulathkavu (CNGR, TRVL and KTYM), Palani and Madurai Meenakshi temple on a single stretch.There are nine daily buses between kochi and madurai which charges between 450 to 800 rupees for a single journey. A train in this route will be of great help for workers from Tamilnadu and Malayalee students studying in Dindigul,Sivanganga and Madurai region and a large number of devotees visiting palani, madurai and Rameswaram.
2. Kollam Velankanni Express
After the completion of the Line between Palakkad Town and Palani trains from Kerala can reach Tiruchirappalli JN via this route, which is easier than the route via Erode JN.The proposed train can run daily through Ernakulam- Palakkad Town- Palani -Dindugul- Tiruchirappalli Velankanni.
3. Mangalore Madurai Express
The train should run on a daily basis through Kannur- Kozhikode -Shoranur Palakkad Town- Palani -Dindugul- Madurai.
If possible this train can be run from Mookambika Road which will connect Mookambika , Palani and Madurai on a single stretch.
4. Ernakulam Rameswaram Express
This train can be a very useful for the people visiting Rameswaram from Central part of Kerala (Kottayam Alappuzha Kochi Thrissur). It can be run through Palakkad -Palani Dindugul -Madurai- Rameswaram
5. Palakkad Chennai Egmore Express
A train which will be useful for the most parts of Tamil Nadu. Currently there is only one train to Chennai Egmore from Palakkad, it comes from Mangalore Central and touches stations like Kozhikode, Shoranur and Coimbatore where the quota of reservation are pretty high. Extension of a Coimbatore ending train to Palakkad also is not possible, therefore it’s very essential to start a train from Palakkad to Chennai Egmore via Palani Dindugul Tiruchirappalli

Railways have decided to convert technical stoppages of 23 Duronto trains into commercial ones, thus enabling passengers to book tickets and board from such stops. "We have identified 23 out of 54 Duronto trains whose technical stoppages would be converted into commercial ones to increase patronage," railways officials said. The 23 Durontos include the Howrah-New Delhi Duronto which would have commercial stoppages at Dhanbad and Kanpur.
Mumbai Central-New Delhi AC Duronto would have stoppages at Vadodara, Ratlam and Kota. Yashwantpur-Delhi Sarai Rohilla AC Duronto would have stoppages at Guntakal and Secunderabad while Howrah-Yashwantpur Duronto would stop at Bhubaneswar, Vizianagaram, Vijayawada and Renigunta, officials said.

all staff in this trains are real beggers.first catering pepl wil come.then coach attendent n cleaning staff will follow.100 rupees to be given as tip to catering staff.coach attendent will be happy with 30 n cleaning staff with 20rs.thr r 52 berths n second ac evn if it s 100 rupes catering staff gets 5200 frm single trip.
The food s so worst too

it is nzm tvc rajdhani .we wr not ready to pay.but they came five times to us.we were afraid of them because if we wont give them money there is plenty of chance that thy may spit into our food items.one passengr gave only 20rupees n thy returned it saying that thy wil only take 100 rs.wn i asked othr passengers thy told me that ths is a regular practice n tvc rajdhani.i hv posted a complaint in railway portal n waiting fr the response

intersting part was that they wont eat the same food delivered to us.they cook seperate good quality chappathis n two curries for catering staff after finishing distribution.yesterday night the staff were having alu muttor n paneer curry where passengers were given dal n chapati.given a chance will never travel n ts so callrd rajdhani
