AC coaches are locked and power disconnected to other coaches. Most of them are daily travelers and one gets to experience a whole lot of food, mostly local produce on this short journey. From boiled eggs, to various channa chaats, to local fruits and berries, to a hot lemon tea beverage. No breakfast perse but its enough to satisfy you tummy as well as the taste buds.
All catering stops before the train crosses the mighty Bogibeel.

Tickets are easy to find in this train. Majority of them are army personnel.
At KYQ, before this train departs, there is nothing on the PF as dinner to be had, except snacks like chips etc. The station itself has very little food and catering options and one has to go 200-300 mtrs outside to find stuff.
Most of the travelers get down at Lakhimpur and Dhemaji and the train practically empties out at Silapathar. There is no catering or tea/coffee on board. No water bottles either.

The on board pantry gets fully active only around noon on day 1. Its only bread omlette before that. Thankfully, the long stop at Badarpur provides one with hot paranthas and pooris which is highly recommended. These stalls also sells rice and curry which one can pack for lunch and which is slightly better than the Rs 80 priced on board veg thali. Post lunch, the pantry service will offer Samosas, chops , Jalebis, Vadas etc till they come to take the dinner orders around 6 pm.

Water, Jhalmuri, nuts and badam, local fruits and hot bevarages are available through out the journey. No proper lunch/ brunch/dinner available. However, this train does stop for a minumin of 15 mins at Karimganj and Badarpur where the on station vendors serve hot food.

The Agartala railway station is situated in the south of the city, on the outskirts and is about 12-14 kms from the city centre. Buses are limited and one has to depend of shared taxis and autos ( preferred option) to reach the station. The auto charges rs 150 from anywhere in the central part of the city and rs 200 for all other parts.
