The load on PRS is very high between 8 AM to 9 AM. This is because the general quota opens for trains leaving after 90 days and the Tatkal quota opens for trains leaving after 2 days. This means a huge queue for passengers at reservation counters, and on the internet, passengers for both the requirements login at the same time, from more than one sessions, and keep on giving continuous requests to the server. At the same time, they ask 2 more ppl to try to book tickets, and send someone to the counter. Eventually, they end up increasing the load on server atleast 4-5 times, and sometimes booking 2-3 tickets for the same journey. Then they keep the best

and cancel the rest. Until all this happens, users get irritated by "Page Not Found", "Service Unavailable", "Failed Transaction" kind of issues as well.
.
I have a solution to distribute the load.
.
Let the Tatkal quota open at 8 AM 2 days in advance of the train date, but keep the opening time of general quota at 10 AM (only for opening day) 90 days in advance of the train date. In this way, both type of passengers will not hit the PRS at the same time, and internet users can get more availability and reliability of server.
.
A more restrictive implementation would be that 8 AM to 9 AM timeslot should be exclusively reserved only for Tatkal ticket bookings in IRCTC. For all other bookings, users should try before 8 AM or after 9 AM. Again this way, the load on server will be distributed. (This also means that general quotas will open only at 9 AM 90 days in advance of the train date).
.
Any suggestions or issues foreseen in this implementation?

My suggestion is as follows
Why not Tatkal booking for train divided by 5 PRS
8 AM to 9 AM tatkal booking for Delhi PRS trains
9 AM to 10 AM Tatkal booking for Mumbai PRS train
10
...
to 11 for Chennai PRS
11 to 12 for Kolkata PRS
12 Noon to 1 PM for Sec PRS
so that total load will be down and every one can get the ticket and there were not be load too in IRCTC SERVER.

90 days general advance booking rush is not all 365 days. It is happen on festival holdays date and in summer time. So this is not the solution. IRCTC load is due to Tatkal ticket only and need suggestions ( I had given Mine)

before chart preparation GN waitlist will confirm and at the time of chart preparation priority is given to CKWL tickets. For example I have GN waitlist 2 and some one cancel one confirm ticket before chart preparation then my Waitlist will become GNWL 1.

try your self booking and canceling some confirm and GNWL ticket and you too will get experience.
Step 1 book one confirm ticket
Step 2 in same train book one Wait list ticket
Step 3 Now Cancel the confirm ticket ( remember to do this before chart Prepaartion and see what is your current waitlist number before cancelling your confirm ticket)
step
...
4 immediately after cancelling your confirm ticket check your waitlist ticket it must have come down by 1 number.
In tatkal WL if some one cancel Tatkal confirm or Tatkal Wl ticket before chart preparation then only Tatkal Wl will move and rest as per the quota of Tatkal for each train (differ in each train) alloted for Tatkal WL will confirm.

1. Do you presume that after predicting so much of PNR's, I do not have this much idea?
I never said that ( I gave reply to your query "Where do you get such informations?")
2." In tatkal WL if some one cancel Tatkal confirm or Tatkal Wl ticket before chart preparation then only Tatkal Wl will move and rest as per the quota of Tatkal for each train (differ in each train) alloted for Tatkal WL will confirm."

more clear and specific. What do you mean by different Tatkal quota for each train??
In which way me more clear and specific please tell me.
In each train there is different tatkal quota for example some has more for Orgin to Destination and some has More for other section of that same train.
PS:- Kindly be more clear and specific with your answers.
What more clear and specific you need in my answer please tell me so next time I will give you detail reply. I have given step by step or more specific like open IRCTC , Login, search from and to and then click book on Right side now the new window open type passenger name , age, etc.
It this lot of specific you need ?
Surely I will do next time

in my opinion this train have only five sleeper, checkout availability of this train from ddn to indb or nzm-indb...for next three month, it shows only 137 vacant seat....so conform that this train have a 10 sleeper...if this train have 10 sleeper, then they show max available seat may be 700..but it is really not...check status...

As lower berth quota shows 10 berth ( As per IR rules each coach will have 2 lower berth quota ) this train has only 5 sleeper coach only.

ADD 45 RAC berths (9X5)
then also it will not come to total of 72x5= 360 berths.
so it is only 5 coaches only.

In IR it is umred and station code is URR and indeed train are running between Ngp-urr and it comes under NGP-Nagbhir section.
@Rahul
Botibori comes under Nagpur-WR section and Umred (as it is spell in IR ) is in NGP to NAB (Nagbhir) section
And train runs between Botibori to Nagpur and Nagpur to Umred
The

track which you mention is indeed in wikimapia map but there is no Information in IR about this section . May be this is used for goods and Frieght train as Passenger train has to go to nearby main station which is Nagpur.

Butibori-Umrer (30 kms) 1965
This Rahul got from CR website the link is here ( copy and paste in your browser)
www.crconstruction.org/project1.asp
Now see the distance KM of section which shows only 30 KM.
But
...
the passenger trains which runs via NGP is AS follows.
Butibori to Nagpur is 28 KM
Nagpur to Umred is 56 Km
Total 84 KM
And a new line was constructed as per CR website in 1965 which is just 30 KM from Butibori to Umred.
He may know this but his query was why there is no train in a shorter route just like some of train goes via Chandafort from BPQ to NAB and some train goes in a longer route to NAB via BPQ-NGP-NAB
Or
He may have found after asking his query that Umrer is Umred in IR. Only Rahul can give the answer.
