Greetings everyone. I have a technical question, not sure if "Rail Fanning" is the correct category to use though...
Banker locomotives are used on gradients for safety and operational reasons. Amongst operational reasons, one is to help the leading loco up a gradient at a certain speed, which would otherwise not have been possible.
What if, a banker locomotive is attached to a train that is running on a flat terrain, say on the Delhi to Kanpur track. Will this locomotive not be able to help a train accelerate faster as it starts...

If first generation ICE trains (like the one pictured) can do this since ages in Germany, providing comfortable (jerk-free) rides at much higher speeds, surely this should be possible here as well. Could these not just be technical challenges that can be overcome. Personally, I think that a saving of 20 minutes is worth it. If other trains are also "upgraded", there shall be an all round knock on effect, resulting in greater time savings.

at a published average speed of 59 kmph, this train is 3 kmph slower than the 15707 amrapali express between LKO and ANVT.

IRI time table shows stoppage in both directions... and if someone was coming from KAWR, they would want to get off first. that was the reason for my question.

Here is the funny thing. I updated the train location @2115 at MAJN. But this is not recognized for some reason.

By timetable, this train is nearly a passenger train in the morning after Mandya. For a train whose time table was shortened (YPR-SBC portion dropped), railways have actually increased the running time of this train by more than 20 minutes.

One day (I hope not too long into the future), I look forward to getting off at Kengeri and taking the Namma service to Whitefield. Still have to travel this sector for at least another 3 years, let us wait and watch what happens.
Almost entered SBC on time. Currently stopped just before the station. Platform availability issues perhaps?
All is clear. We have waited to cross the Gol Gumbaz express. Since we are to cross over to PF5, one of th two trains had to wait. Unlucky us...
Finally pulled in.
Auto update train location feature did not work on my phone this entire trip. And I have a high end smartphone. Any suggestions from experienced users?
