Can we ask the booking clerk for the exact seat number while booking at PRS counter.
For example I always prefer Upper Berth, Side Upper Berth. But most of the times I get middle especially in AC 3 tier. Middle berth in AC 3 tier is worst if traveling alone. It may be due to less number of quota from my station.

Are partially confirmed/ waitlisted passengers/2S passengers allowed to board in Sleeper Coach?
I am asking it because it was a very bad experience for me while travelling in Sleeper Class of 02874 Yesvantpur to Howrah Special last week.
The corrupt TTE was blindly taking bribe from 2S ticket passengers at Vijaywada, Gudur station. He was writing something in carbon paper receipt and allowing them to sleep anywhere in sleeper coach. traveling to Visakhapatnam, Howrah. These without ticket passengers kept their luggage near those who were having confirmed berth. When asking why are you disturbing confirmed passengers they said us to go and ask TTE. There was no RPF who came for checking in the entire journey. Many were smoking cigarettes, bidi from their seats itself. They neither dared to smoke at least in washroom. It was a very unsafe, congested and unhygienic journey for me.
Is Indian Railways back to its old style (;general ticket kaat kar sleeper me ghus jaao) as it was before Junta Curfew 2020, lockdown ? How safe it is to travel in trains after Pandemic ?
