Cleanliness: The rake maintenance is at BBS, so 02074 can be expected to be clean, but 02073 becomes a little dirty as the 45 minutes at HWH is not enough for proper cleaning. Toilets can be better.
Punctuality: Maintains time, might be a little late at CTC(5 minutes) but is always on time (or before time) at BBS. This train can be speeded up in the HWH-KGP sector and SORO-BHC.

No local vendors are allowed on this train (which is surprising as transgenders are allowed on this train to trouble people), and food is whatever is sold by standard IRCTC, which is not great.
Ticket Availability: This is a problem as no special trains are running on the paths of 12277 and 12841(02877 is on Sundays only), and this is the only train in the afternoon on this route, so tickets book out pretty fast in 2S and CC. Book atleast a month in advance.
Railfanning: Nothing great.
Safety: RPF's are available on the platform on which 02073 arrives at KGP and BLS.
Rake: Expected a 3x3 push back seating(like 12871/02829) in 2S, but its just like a a normal 2S coach, like any other intercity. A disappointment.
Crowd: Runs full. Daily passengers board it between JER-BLS-BHC as no locals a running on that route in the evenings.

Overall, can be better, but it's a better option than 02087.

This trip is after travelling on 02073 on 02nd March 2021. At last HWH-BBS janShatabdi was LHBfied (12073 used to run with pretty old coaches, equivalent to an Intercity).
Cleanliness: 02974 is cleaner as the rake is maintained at BBS, while 02073 is so-so(due to the 50 minutes it gets to be cleaned on platform no-19). The toilets in CC were wet at HWH, when boarded. The 2S coaches are okay.

BHC. has ample slack before BBS, so makes up the 5 mins late at CTC, and is right time(or before time) at BBS.
Food: Standard catering by IRCTC. Was dissapointed to see that local vendors were being restricted on this train.
Ticket Availability: Has BLS Quota. Ticket availability in CC has dropped (since no special corresponding to 12277 is running). Tickets in 2S are also sold out fast as no daily special is running on the path of 12841. Book your tickets atleast 15 days in advance(non-rush periods) and 1 month in advance(during rush).
Railfanning: Pretty lackluster as only high profile crossings are YPR-HWH Duronto/AC Express(except Sundays), Dhauli(mostly at DNT) and Neelanchal/Nandankanan.
Safety: Well RPF are there on the platform it stops at KGP and BLS.

Overall 02073/74 has deteriorated in comparison to 12073/74. There are more passengers in 2S, often daily passengers in JER-BLS-BHC sector as passenger trains are not running (08003 has useless timings in this sector). Transgenders are boarding this train (they didn't use to board 12073/74). Options for food has decreased and ticket availability is tougher.

Still good for BBS-HWH in morning and HWH-BBS among the options(better than 02087) with awkward timings.

Travelled in 02088 from KUR to HWH on 14.02.21. Regards 02088, it is a major improvement on 12822.
Cleanliness: Average as it's become a train full of tourists returning from PURI, not getting tickets in 02838. The toilets dont stick but could smell better. The facade of the brand new LHB rake has been stained by betel nut in some places. Water taps are functional.

Food: No improvement or has rather deteriorated with less options, as local vendors are not allowed.
Ticket Availability: In 2S, there are lots of tickets available, while CC its a little difficult(book atleast 14 days in advance).
Railfanning: Not bad, with xings with Neelanchal, Falaknuma, YRP Duronto, BBS Rajdhani, Dhauli, BBS Janshatabdi and TATA Steel Express. Also the crossings over Mahanadi, Brahmani, Baitarani, and Suvarnarekha are scenic.
Safety: Passengers will board and deboard at every station. Transgenders are a nuisance.
Overall, had expected much better from an LHBfied 02088. The LHB rake is like a revamped conventional ICF rake with 3x3 face-to-face seating (unlike TATA Steel or Ispat Express, which has reclined seats, with tray-tables and row seats) which was a disappointment. The travel time has not changed much(surprisingly increased even with Markona being dropped as a stoppage). Could be decreased in the BBS-CTC sector, JJKR-BHC sector and BLDA-KGP sector. Missed the office travellers(probably due to in inconvenient timings).

Travelled in 02863 from HWH-KUR on 4th Jan 2021 and return KUR-HWH on 21st Jan 2021.
Cleanliness: As PM@ SRC, cleanliness is expected to be excellent on this journey, on the return journey too toilets and vestibules were well maintained and cleaned at KUR itself.
Punctuality: Bet on the punctuality on the HWH-KUR section and return KUR-HWH section too. Till CTC it maintains before time at every station on its onward journey while maintaining the schedule till KUR. 1 hr in the CTC-KUR segment seems slow after the non-stop run from BLS to...

Food: pantry serves food which is the standard IRCTC quality, nothing special to be expected in this train.
Ticket Availability: As this train follows the path of Duronto but Flexi fare is absent, tickets are available a little less, but still better than 02873.
Railfanning: Something this train should be taken for: has lots of high profile Xings in the HWH-BBS sector with BBS Janshatabdi, CSMT Gitanjali, ADI Express, BBS Rajdhani, YRP Duronto, Dhauli(with LHB) and Neelanchal Express.
Safety: Coach attendants have been done away with but since it has so less stops, it should not be an issue.
Overall, better than Falaknuma or YPR Express and cheaper the YPR Duronto. It gets a SRC WAP7.
