HWH_BBS_JanShatabdiTo_BAM 10 blog postsTravelled in 08480 from VSKP to KUR on 11.04.21. 08480 is the only proper overnight train between the state capitals of AP and Odisha(along with 02072, 02840) and the one to run on Sunday night-Monday morning. 3A coaches of this train are Humsafar ones and can be better in terms of comfort. The train maintains time at BBS in spite of getting a little late while arriving at VSKP. Only downside is that it charges PREMIUM TATKAL fare.

HWH_BBS_JanShatabdiTo_BAM 10 blog postsTravelled in 08480 on 11.04.21 from VSKP to KUR. The train was slightly late and arrived on platform no 3 at VSKP, but was on time at platform no. 2 at KUR. The 3A are Humsafar coaches without curtains (most of the curtain rods are loose and rattle the entire night). The LHB CBC coupling also doesn't make your journey smooth. PREMIUM TATKAL fare is charged for this train. One of the few overnight options between the state capitals of AP and Odisha.

This is the slowest train on this route with 20 scheduled halts and railways charge PREMIUM TATKAL fare on this train. Ticket availability is decent on this train due to its high fare and slow timings. This train enjoys patronage by the people of AP as there are multiple stops of 07480 in AP.

This train traverses the Kirandul-Dilmili, Jeypore Road-Koraput and Karakavalasa-Kottavalasa ghat sections with more than 50 tunnels and 75 bridges in the entire length from Kirandul to Kottavalasa. Grab a window seat and a camera.
Drinking water facility is available on pf 1 at ARK, pf 1 at KRPU and pf 1 at JDB along the route of the train. Food is only available at KRPU where the crossing of 08515/08516 occurs. Excellent for railfanning.
